A mini-documentary of my latest work!

(Watch me speak some words about plays without words 🤫)

This is the third installment in a series I’m devoting to wordless plays. You can read the first two offerings here:

Hello friends!

I’m thrilled to share a special update about my recent production of My Foot My Tutor, which I directed back in October at Theater Emory.

This play holds particular significance for me, marking my second wordless production (following The Water Station in 2022) and my second time directing a work by Peter Handke.

Today, I’m beyond honored to share a 10-minute mini-documentary about the creation of this piece, directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Adam Forrester.

Adam’s vision lovingly captured moments from our rehearsals, culminating in footage from one of our preview performances. The result is a stunningly beautiful document of this poetic work—a piece that examines power, domination, and resistance in a world stripped entirely of speech.

I also want to express my deepest admiration for the phenomenal team who brought My Foot My Tutor to life. Thank you to our actors: Wayne Wang and Chase Brown; our designers: Michael Lewis (Set), David Reingold (Lights), Amanda Whitfield (Costumes and Masks), Ethan Weathersbee (Sound), Ryan Bradburn (Props); and our indispensable production team: Kailey Albus (Assistant Director), Sarah Stein (Stage Manager), LaMarr White Jr. (Assistant Stage Manager), Michael Evenden (Dramaturg), Courtney Greever (Production Manager), Mark Warner (Technical Director), Tracy Floyd (Wardrobe Supervisor), and John Evenden (Fight Choreographer).

Lastly, thank you for reading, and watching, and supporting my work! Wordless plays have a sneaky way of prompting questions and conversation, so if you feel so moved, please let me know your thoughts about the documentary. As always, I’d love to hear from you!
